Salisbury might be a city, but it also has the benefit of being completely surrounded by beautiful countryside.

In some cities you have to travel several miles before you reach a location capable of giving you a real adventure in the great outdoors, but not so in Salisbury.

From the city centre, you only need to travel a maximum of three miles to reach some element of countryside, and Salisbury has a wide variety of walks to offer.

Why not take your pup for a trip to Old Sarum, taking in the sights of the original castle in Salisbury? Or dash over to Laverstock and go exploring Cockey Down Nature Reserve.

Better still, head slightly further afield to Wilton and you can take in the historic Grovely Wood. At a size of 20.16 acres, Grovely is one of the largest woodlands in southern Wiltshire, there’s plenty of areas to explore, meaning no two walks need to be the same.

If you fancy something a little closer to home however, you can always take a wander through town and then along the River Nadder, covering Harnham, Quidhampton and the edge of the city itself.

Regardless of where you’re based in Salisbury, a great dog walk is always just around the corner!
